Conservation and Biodiversity

Conservation is an important issue in the Territory. Certain wildlife species are of great cultural importance to the Crees, particularly those whose harvesting is expressly reserved for them under Section 24 of the JBNQA. Biodiversity conservation is intrinsically linked to the preservation of Cree culture and traditional practices.
